About us

Welcome to the website of the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Sciences (FLD) of the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague (CZU). Our Faculty provides students with quality university education in study programmes focused on sustainable management, forest ecosystems, wood sciences, economics, construction of wooden buildings, and much more. Interactive and modern lessons take place in new Faculty premises, where there are state-of-the-art laboratories and classrooms. The study is three-level; students can complete successive degrees of study (bachelor's, master's and doctoral). It is also possible to study within the Erasmus+ programmes at selected universities in Europe and also participate in short-term or long-term study stays, internships, and summer schools in various countries in Europe and elsewhere around the world.

Admission and entrance exams

To study at the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Sciences at the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague, you can only submit an application in an electronic form for bachelor's and master's study programmes; the form can be found on the website www.fld.czu.cz/en. You enter the e-application system as a new user. You choose our Faculty, type of study, form of study, and the study programme you are interested in. You fill in your personal data and you can create your e-application. After that, you will receive the login data, which you use to log in to the UIS system as a user. Subsequently, you enter the e-application submission section, where the e-application submission is mandatory. All other information about study admission and entrance exams will be delivered to your school email, and you will also see it in the UIS system.

Additional information

CZU also offers the option of accommodation on the University campus, so there is no need to commute. Whether or not a student will be allocated accommodation is determined by a number of criteria, such as distance from home, time required for commuting, health reasons, etc. Accommodation available to students includes a computer network connection, a laundry room, and a library; some rooms are available en suite.

There is also a wide range of eating options at CZU. The CZU canteen (Menza) offers lunches and dinners. You can choose from a wide range of savoury, sweet, and vegetarian dishes. We also have 2 cafés, 3 bistros, and 2 restaurants on the premises.
